Lead Network Installation Technician (Field-Based | Infrastructure & Systems)

Caltuck is hiring a Lead Network Installation Technician to take ownership of field deployments and lead on-site work.

This is a hands-on, field-first role. You will be working on active job sites installing, bringing online, and troubleshooting network systems. This is not a desk-based IT position.

We are looking for someone who can work independently, lead crews on-site, and take ownership of installations from start to finish.

What You Will Do
  • Lead on-site installations and coordinate day-to-day field work
  • Install and rack network equipment, including switches, routers, and patch panels
  • Run, terminate, label, and test Cat5e/Cat6 cables
  • Bring network systems online, including IP setup, connectivity testing, and basic configuration
  • Deploy wireless systems, including Wi-Fi and point-to-point links
  • Install and support IP camera systems and assist with access control
  • Troubleshoot network, hardware, and connectivity issues in the field
  • Maintain clean, organized job sites and ensure high-quality installations
Required Qualifications
  • 4+ years of hands-on field experience in network or low-voltage installations
  • Proven network experience installing and bringing systems online, not just cabling
  • Field experience working on active job sites
  • Experience leading or running jobs on-site
  • Ability to perform basic network configuration, including IP addressing, VLANs, and device setup
  • Strong troubleshooting ability across both physical and network layers
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of work
Preferred Qualifications
  • College or technical school education in IT, networking, or a related field
  • Experience with routers, switches, cameras, door access systems, or similar equipment
  • Experience with Ubiquiti, Cambium, MikroTik, or similar platforms
  • Point-to-point or wireless deployment experience
  • Fiber installation or termination experience

Responsibilities
  • Generate and pursue leads for AV, network, and security jobs

We want someone with hustle. Outgoing and not afraid to strike up a conversation. You will have an office with a window, but if you are in it all day, this is not the job for you. Get out there, meet people face to face, and close deals the old-fashioned way.

  • Visit client sites and understand their needs
  • Prepare and deliver quotes using our tools
  • Coordinate with field techs to align project expectations
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients
Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal and sales skills
  • Basic understanding of networking and AV systems
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Comfortable with technology
